Ahmadreza Djalali, an Iranian-Swedish emergency physician and visiting professor at VUB (Vrije Universiteit Brussel), suffered a heart attack in Evin Prison in Tehran, the Iranian capital. This was reported by the Swedish news agency TT, based on statements from Djalali’s wife, Vida Mehrannia, and his lawyer, Nima Rostami. According to his wife, his life is in danger.
Djalali is said to have suffered a heart attack on Thursday evening and was transferred to the prison infirmary. However, he was reportedly told that he would not be able to see a cardiologist until Sunday, as the weekend had already begun in Iran.
