Since then, nothing has been heard about the Swedish-Iranian disaster medicine doctor Ahmadreza Djalali, who has been sentenced to death in Iran
After the war against Israel, Iran has increased the number of executions – and Djalali is feared to be next in line.
Where is Ahmadreza Djalali, the father of two who conducted research at the Karolinska Institute before being arrested in 2016 and sentenced to death in Iran?
His lawyer in Iran has repeatedly demanded to visit his client or at least speak with him by phone, but without success.
Djalali was imprisoned in Evin Prison before it became a target of an Israeli attack during the twelve-day war between Iran and Israel in June.
After that, he was moved – first together with the other prisoners to a large prison just south of the capital, then to a secret location without the other inmates.
“He has been missing since then,” says his wife, Vida Mehrannia, who for over nine years has been fighting to bring her husband home to Sweden.
