Support for Cécile Kohler and her partner Jacques Paris, both imprisoned in Iran for 1,165 days, remains unwavering.
On Tuesday morning, their colleagues from the Nanterre high school—where the young literature teacher worked before her arbitrary detention—gathered in front of the gates of the Iranian Embassy in Paris to demand the couple’s release.
Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, a few close relatives of Cécile Kohler—an educator originally from Soultz (Haut-Rhin)—and her partner Jacques Paris, a retired mathematics teacher, arrived at Place d’Iéna in Paris, in front of the gates guarding the Iranian Embassy.
As they had the previous week, they came wearing T-shirts bearing the faces of the two hostages and holding signs calling for their release.
They were joined by local officials, including Caroline Cor, a Nanterre representative who has supported the cause from the very beginning, and François Béchieau, a city councilor from Paris’s 19th arrondissement who has also been highly involved.
Together, they called on the Iranian Embassy to demand the release of Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris.
