Anxiety is growing among the relatives of Jacques Paris, the Nantes native imprisoned in Iran since May 7, 2022, along with his partner Cécile Kohler. The support committee is once again calling on the French government to engage in dialogue with the Iranian regime for his release.
Seven days after the start of Israeli strikes on Iran, they are speaking out to express their heightened anxiety. Friends and colleagues of Jacques Paris, a former teacher at Clemenceau High School in Nantes, who has been imprisoned in Iran for over three years along with his partner Cécile Kohler, “fear the worst.” Evin Prison, where the couple has been held since their arrest on May 7, 2022, is located in northern Tehran. “Cécile and Jacques are trapped under Israeli bombs,” warns Marie-Brigitte Huet of the support group. “What’s at risk is indescribable chaos across the country, threatening all populations in this region of the world that has already been horrifically scarred.”
