Jagtar Singh Johal’s Brother Brands David Lammy’s Comments ‘Ridiculous’ after India Visit

Today, Jagtar’s brother Gurpreet told the Record that he wanted the new Labour government to do more than just call for “progress’ and “bring Jagtar home”.
Gurpreet, a Labour councilor, said: “My family are highly appreciative that the new UK Government has pressed India on their first visit, but the fact remains that the UN has stated that Jagtar is arbitrarily detained and he should be released.

“To go down the line of saying there is a judicial process taking place, in my opinion, is ridiculous. There has been no due process to date and no conviction.”
