Kurdish Journalist Ahmet Polad Has Spent 200 Days in Solitary Confinement in Syria!

The spokesperson for the solidarity organization People’s Bridge, Avin Hummitzsch, has issued the following statement to the public on behalf of the organization:

August 6 marks 200 days since the arrest of Kurdish journalist Ahmet Polad.

Following the release of German journalist Eva Maria Michelmann, protests continue to be organized demanding the release of her colleague, journalist Ahmet Polad. As there is still no officially confirmed information regarding Ahmet Polad’s whereabouts, health condition, or the allegations against him, we are calling on people across Germany and Europe to protest in front of Syrian embassies and consulates.

The aim of these actions is to increase pressure on the Syrian government.
