Motorcyclists are being urged to rally together to attend a London rideout in support of detained British nationals Lindsay and Craig Foreman, who are currently serving a decade-long sentence in one of Iran’s most notorious prisons for offences they deny committing.
The ‘awareness stunt,’ as Joe Bennett, son of the husband-and-wife travellers, describes it, has been set for May 20, marking 500 days of detention in the country. The event will conclude with supporters handing the Government a petition – currently over 67,000 signatures – calling for stronger action to support the couple’s release.
The duo were arrested on suspicion of spying for the UK and Israel in January 2025 while travelling through Iran on a round-the-world motorcycle trip – charges both they and their family strongly deny.
Following what campaigners describe as a ‘sham trial’, both are now locked up inside Tehran’s Evin Prison, where British-Iranian Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was previously held for five years. Conditions inside are reportedly brutal and the site has been condemned repeatedly for systematic human rights abuses – including regular arbitrary and unlawful executions.
