Mehran Raoof, Political Prisoner, Granted Leave After Five Years

Mehran Raoof, a political prisoner, has been granted leave after five years.

Mehran Raoof, a political prisoner, has been granted a three-day leave after five years and two months of imprisonment without any prior leave.

Raoof was arrested in Mehr 1399 (October 2020) along with Nahid Taghavi and several others, and he is now the only remaining prisoner from that case.

He is approaching the age of 70, and his lawyer and family hope that, given his physical condition and by making use of legal provisions such as conditional release (parole), the possibility of his permanent release can be achieved.
