Argentina – Cadena 3, Jan. 12, 2026
Griselda Heredia spoke with Cadena 3 and said that since the release of prisoners in Venezuela began, the family of the Argentine gendarme has received no news about his whereabouts.
The mother of Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo, who has been detained in Venezuela since December 8, 2024, expressed her deep anguish this Monday over the lack of information about her son, despite the recent prisoner releases announced by the Venezuelan regime. “We’re living with total uncertainty and nerves. We have no confirmation of anything,” Griselda Heredia said in an interview with Cadena 3.
Heredia said that the releases carried out so far do not ease families’ doubts and instead increase their desperation. “They’re releasing people in batches while there are people outside keeping vigil, without eating, without knowing how our detainees in Rodeo 1 are doing. It’s an even worse situation than what we were already going through,” she said.
She stressed that although it was expected that the latest releases would include foreigners held in that prison, there has been no news about Nahuel Gallo. Speaking as a mother, she expressed a strong belief about the political background of the situation. “The one calling the shots is Diosdado Cabello. It’s obvious. If everyone is innocent, why not release them all at once? Why are they coming out three at a time, ten at a time, by nationality?” she asked.
