Ulf Kristersson – schedule a meeting with China and demand the release of Swedish citizen Gui Minhai.
That is the demand from Swedish PEN as parts of the Chinese government are currently attending a summit in Stockholm.
“We expect Kristersson to bring up the case and push for action,” says Fredrik Fällman of Swedish PEN.
At the beginning of the week, China and the United States are meeting in Stockholm to negotiate trade issues between the two countries.
On Monday, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson held a separate meeting with the Chinese delegation—a meeting Svantesson described as “productive.”
“We discussed both trade and the global situation more broadly,” she told TT (Swedish News Agency).
