Prosecutor Considers Charges of Crimes Against Humanity in Dawit Isaak’s Case

Prosecutors at the National Unit for International and Organized Crime will examine the charges of crimes against humanity in the case of Dawit Isaak.

Jesús Alcalá, Percy Bratt and Antoine Bernard, lawyers at Reporters Without Borders headquarters in Paris, recently filed a complaint against Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki and several leading politicians and military officers for holding Dawit Isaak for 23 years without trial and cutting him off from all contact with the outside world. The prosecutor has now decided to investigate whether he is being tortured.
