The French President reaffirmed his desire to see Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris “freed from Iranian prisons” on Thursday, March 20. The two have been detained in Iran since 2022.
“Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris must be freed from Iranian prisons,” Emmanuel Macron reiterated on Thursday, March 20, expressing his continued commitment to the release of the Alsatian teacher and her partner, who have been imprisoned in Iran for nearly three years. This statement was made in a declaration from the President on X, announcing the release of Olivier Grondeau, who had also been detained in Iran. Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris are now the two last French hostages held in Iran.
