After more than two years of captivity in Afghanistan, Ryan Corbett was welcomed home by an overjoyed Dansville community.
A packed Dansville High School gymnasium listened as Ryan Corbett shared the story of his captivity.
The Dansville father, who lived in Afghanistan for years while operating a consulting firm in Afghanistan, was visiting the region for business when he was wrongfully detained by the Taliban in August 2022.
Anna Corbett, his wife, expressed her gratitude to the community, saying, “I know you’ve all prayed, cried, and agonized with us through this ordeal…What he went through is unimaginable, and today he will just continue the surface of what you experienced.”
Corbett took the podium and then recounted his harrowing experience. He described the moments after being detained.
