The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates its concern over the situation of Peruvian citizens Renzo Huamanchumo Castillo, Marco Antonio Madrid Martínez, and Ricardo Meléndez Guerrero, who were detained in Venezuelan territory between September 22 and December 19, 2024. The Ministry informs the public as follows:
Since the situation became known, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru, through its diplomatic missions, has been making continuous efforts with friendly countries and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to locate their nationals in order to ensure their integrity and the respect for their fundamental rights.
