Statement From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Detained and Sentenced-to-Death Ahmadreza Djalali in Iran

We have received highly concerning reports about the deteriorating health of Ahmadreza Djalali. In light of this, Iran’s ambassador was urgently summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, March 7.
During the meeting, demands were made for the immediate release of Ahmadreza Djalali on humanitarian grounds so that he can reunite with his family. At the same time, he must urgently receive the medical care he so clearly requires. The demand for consular access to Ahmadreza Djalali was also reiterated.
