Spain – Democrata, May 27, 2026

Rocío San Miguel returns to Venezuela to face her judicial case, reunite with her family, and follow the process under strict precautionary measures.

The Hispanic-Venezuelan activist Rocío San Miguel has decided to return to Venezuela with the objective of facing her judicial situation, currently “at a standstill,” a choice with which she seeks to reunite with her loved ones again and try to unblock the ‘impasse’ in which she finds herself after having spent several months living in Spain.

“This decision responds to her desire to reunite with her family and personally accompany the development and closure of this stage, with the expectation that the legal situation can be resolved in accordance with the law and definitively,” informed José Manuel San Miguel, the activist’s brother and authorized spokesperson, in a statement.

The family expresses its gratitude for the “efforts, support, and willingness” of all the people and institutions in Spain who have supported her during the time she has remained in the country. “We appreciate the respect for the privacy, serenity, and family stability necessary to navigate this stage with prudence and responsibility,” the text reads.
