For nine years, the death-sentenced Swedish-Iranian Ahmadreza Djalali has been imprisoned in Iran.
During a hearing in the Swedish parliament, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson was pressed on why he was not exchanged along with Johan Flodérus last year.
“It was completely impossible,” Kristersson replied.
It has been exactly nine years since the Swedish-Iranian doctor and KI researcher Ahmadreza Djalali was arrested in Iran on April 25, 2016.
He has been sentenced to death and has been subjected to mock executions during his time in the notorious Evin Prison in Iran.
On Friday, his case was mentioned in the Constitutional Committee when Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson was called to answer questions regarding the prisoner swap that took place between Iran and Sweden in June of last year.
