Arrested on May 7, 2022, in Iran, Jacques Paris and his partner Cécile Kohler are still being held in Evin prison, Tehran. The daughter and sister of the Nantes native speak about the couple’s survival conditions, which they can only imagine based on the very rare contact they have with their father and brother.
Jacques Paris, from Nantes, was arrested alongside his partner, Cécile Kohler, on May 7, 2022, at the end of a tourist trip to Iran. Accused of espionage, the couple has been detained since then in Evin prison, Tehran. “It’s a life-threatening emergency,” say the daughter and sister—who prefer to remain anonymous—of the former mathematics teacher from Clemenceau High School in Nantes, who is now 72 years old.
