Venezuela: Deputy Minister Cirielli On Trentini’s Phone Call To His Family

With regard to the case of Alberto Trentini, detained in Venezuela, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli, stated: “On behalf of the Italian Government, I express relief at Alberto Trentini’s phone call to his family, which took place yesterday, more than eight months after the beginning of his detention in Venezuelan prisons. I consider this a step forward in the protection of detainees’ rights, and I renew the hope — also thanks to the ongoing diplomatic efforts — that our Italian national may soon be released”.
