The location was not chosen by chance. On Saturday, March 1, it was at the foot of the Tower of Liberty that a group of about twenty people decided to gather to show their support for Cécile Kohler, Jacques Paris, and Olivier Grondeau. Imprisoned for over two years in Iranian jails, these three French hostages “are reduced to a state of survival,” denounced Anne-Marie Bachmann, the organizer of this rally.
A childhood friend of Cécile Kohler, this activist from the League of Human Rights in Saint-Dié calls for the three hostages, if not released, “at least to be transferred to a headquarters where their conditions would be better.” “They live in an atmosphere of terror, in a tiny cell where they sleep on the floor with light on day and night,” laments Anne-Marie Bachmann, for whom it is crucial to continue mobilizing and increasing actions. “We won’t forget you.”
